He became a Partner at Waltons & Morse in 1993 and a Partner of Eversheds in 1996, specialising in PI insurance. In 1997 he launched his own PI underwriting agency called PI Direct, later Martello Professional Risks. Michael had purchased a wholesale Australian PI insurance brokerage called PI Direct Insurance Brokers in 2004. After returning to Australia in 2011, Michael started Woodina Underwriting Agency in January 2012 and sold PI Direct Insurance Brokers into Steadfast in 2013.

Insurance Advisernet Australia was founded in 1996 and today we’re one of the largest and most respected general insurance businesses in Australia and New Zealand, with an ever growing network of over 270 authorised insurance advice practices. As part of the AUB Group, an ASX-listed company, with over $4.4 billion in premium under influence across the AUB network, our buying power spans major insurers in Australia as well as access to major overseas insurers.
We believe our key difference comes from always delivering the most appropriate advice, the most efficient systems and the right insurance solutions for our client's evolving needs – guided by our four core business pillars of trust, advice, choice and value. Beyond insurance, we’re also proud to play an active and ongoing role in helping local community organisations through the Insurance Advisernet Foundation.
