In an era when trust and expertise are more essential than ever, Spencer Hon, principal broker of Eternity Insurance & Financial Services, was named Authorised Representative of the Year − a distinction earned through exceptional leadership, strategic growth and unwavering dedication to client and community success.
For more than a decade, Hon has viewed insurance not just as a transactional business but as a long-term commitment.
“We don’t just sell policies; we partner with our clients to safeguard their futures,” says Hon, and it’s this guiding philosophy that underpins the firm’s standout growth.
Its gross written premium climbed to $21 million as of November 2024 − an impressive 27% lift over 12 months − and even more striking is the firm’s consistent upward trajectory. It tracked 25% growth in 2023, 36.6% in 2022, and 31.4% in 2021, all mirrored by robust revenue increases and a 2023 commission and fee income of $3.9 million.
But the numbers tell only part of the story. What sets Hon apart is his focus on holistic business development. His approach fuses high-touch client service with strong insurer relationships, creating a symbiotic ecosystem where brokers, underwriters and clients all thrive. This collaborative mindset has enabled Eternity Insurance to forge alliances with some of Australia’s largest insurers and emerging underwriting agencies, giving clients access to tailored, high-value solutions.
Hon’s success also stems from a hands-on leadership style that prioritizes mentorship and professional development. Recognizing the talent gap in the industry, he built a firm culture anchored in learning, actively recruiting and nurturing newcomers to insurance.
“Bringing in fresh talent and watching them grow into seasoned professionals is one of the most rewarding parts of this job,” Hon says.
This investment in people has boosted his team’s performance while also enhancing the firm’s reputation across the market.
In addition to his brokerage accomplishments, Hon has become a prominent voice in the industry. His recent accolades include being named an IB Elite Broker and earning spots in Fast Brokerage 2024 and the Top Brokerage and Top Broker rankings. He’s also a repeat Excellence Awardee, reinforcing his status as a standout contributor in a fiercely competitive field.
Driving innovation and client outcomes is another core focus. Hon seamlessly integrates technology into risk management strategies, ensuring clients receive comprehensive protection and real-time service without compromising on personalization. Reflecting the same ethos, his branding and marketing efforts are intelligent, trustworthy and relentlessly client focused.
At the heart of his work lies a deep commitment to community. Hon sees every policy as a promise − to protect businesses, families and the broader ecosystems they support. It’s a vision that resonates, especially in today’s uncertain landscape, and one that goes a long way toward explaining Eternity Insurance’s enduring success.
As the industry continues to evolve, leaders like Hon demonstrate what’s possible when client advocacy, strategic thinking and ethical leadership converge. His recognition as Authorised Representative of the Year is not just a personal milestone − it’s a benchmark for excellence in the profession.
