Denis Dubois has served as executive vice president of wealth management and life and health insurance at Desjardins Group since 2019. In addition to his role as president and chief operating officer of Desjardins Financial Security, he’s also responsible for the activities at Desjardins Investments and Desjardins Global Asset Management.
Denis has been with Desjardins since 2003. His knowledge of the Canadian insurance market and his leadership skills have propelled him into various roles in senior management, including executive vice president of property and casualty (P&C) insurance, a position he held from 2016 to 2019.
Denis channels a clear vision and an engaging leadership style into a fundamental belief his employees buy into – the importance of being a leader in the member/client experience. Chantal joined Desjardins in 2007 and is known for her curiosity and adaptability, as well as her analytical and communication skills. Chantal has a degree in actuarial science and is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
She started her career in the Property and Casualty Insurance Division, where she held various management roles within the actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams. In 2020, she joined the Life and Health Insurance sector as vice president, individual insurance. She paved the way for the teams to maximize their potential and increase their deliveries. In 2023, she was appointed senior vice president, life and health insurance division, where she oversees the Individual Insurance Division, the Group Benefits and Savings Division, the Independent Network Sales and Distribution Division, and the Claims and Client Care Support Division.
Chantal is a woman of action with an ambitious vision. She never hesitates to think outside the box to help her teams excel and reach new heights.

Marie-France holds a law degree from Université Laval and was admitted to the Barreau du Québec in 1992. She began her career in private practice where she counseled and represented various property and casualty insurers and professional liability funds in court.
In 2004, she made the leap into the insurance industry and started working as a claims manager at a competing insurer before joining Desjardins in 2010.
Over the following years, Marie-France held several roles in P&C insurance at Desjardins. She’s played a leadership role in the major transformations in the sector including the launch of the member/client experience program in 2012, the integration of State Farm's Canadian operations in 2015, the rollout of the business rule and process simplification initiative in 2016, and the creation of Desjardins Identity Protection in 2019.
In 2017, Marie-France took the reins at the Commercial Lines Division (DGIG) to implement the first part of the NeXT core business system and deploy the accelerated growth plan to better support Desjardins Business members.
In the spring of 2022, Marie-France took on a new challenge in the Wealth Management and Life and Health Insurance (WMLHI) Executive Division. Initially, she was responsible for group and business insurance, but in the winter of 2023 her role came to include group retirement savings. As a result, she’s now in charge of the two group insurance business lines as vice president, group benefits and retirement savings.
She’s known for her hands-on leadership style as well as her ability to build strong teams in periods of major change.

His responsibilities included sound claims management, operational performance, and client experience, with 200 managers and 2,800 employees reporting to him. What’s more, he supervised the transformation of bodily injury operations outside Quebec, the simplification of home and auto processes, as well as the digital shift in claims. Michel has been a key player in property and casualty insurance for 27 years.

Desjardins takes its commitment to social and environmental issues seriously by investing heavily in education – particularly education of its members and clients – on democracy, economics, solidarity, and individual and collective responsibility. It regularly hosts workshops and training sessions and offers rebates on educational courses.
Over the last year, Desjardins has contributed significantly to the community and various non-profits. Desjardins has provided $3 million in grants to small businesses via its GoodSpark Grants and is investing over $3.2 million in road safety from 2022 to 2024. Desjardins also raised $9.5 million in 2023 thanks to the Cares and Shares campaign. This amount will have a significant impact on the Desjardins Foundation, United Way Centraide, and Canadian Red Cross, which are out there every day, changing lives one story at a time. In addition to its community efforts, Desjardins continues to champion digital innovation and technology throughout its network. Desjardins has recently developed Alvie, a virtual assistant that will guide you step by step through simple self-service transactions.
Desjardins Insurance has two interactive CE-accredited webinar series to engage and interact with its advisors, the Discovery Series and the MasterClass series. The goal of the webinars is to hear from industry experts and other advisors about winning strategies and best practices.
