Ecclesiastical Insurance is delighted to have received the 2023 awards for P&C Insurer of the Year as well as Excellence in Philanthropy and Community Service. This marks the third time in five years that the company has been recognized for giving back, which is at the core of its values and mission of making a difference and bettering lives and communities.
As a specialist insurer, Ecclesiastical Insurance is deeply committed to protecting the needs of organizations that enrich the lives of others; to preserving Canada’s distinct communities, cultures, and history; and to supporting initiatives that help improve the lives of people in need.
Ecclesiastical Insurance is proudly part of the Benefact Group, which is owned by Benefact Trust – the UK’s third-largest charity. It is driven by the belief that better business can better lives and, thanks to the hard work and dedication of its employees, all available profits go right back into funding a variety of community-based charitable initiatives.
“Giving back is central to our values and our culture; it is our mission and the reason we exist,” says David Huebel, President of Ecclesiastical Insurance. “We’re deeply involved in our communities through partnerships, sponsorships and employee volunteer initiatives that help improve the lives of people in need.”
Being named as the P&C Insurer of the year for the first time is a significant milestone for Ecclesiastical. “We strive to be an industry leader in our chosen segments and do everything possible to develop customized insurance and risk management solutions that meet the unique needs of our customers,” says Huebel. “We aim to provide first-class service to both our broker partners and customers. This recognition means we are fulfilling these goals, and we are extremely grateful for this esteemed acknowledgement.”
From the services and solutions offered, to the organization’s culture and values, Ecclesiastical Insurance takes a unique and specialist approach to how it operates. Everything is guided by its purpose to make a difference, extending from its products and services to making a positive impact on communities. The company doesn’t just care for bricks and mortar, objects or organizations, but what these represent to the people who love and depend on them. All available profits are then returned back into communities across Canada through grant-giving, partnerships and sponsorships, and employee volunteer initiatives. “We are extremely proud of our organization’s fundamental commitment to helping people in need and supporting the communities in which we live and work,” reflects Huebel.
At Ecclesiastical Insurance, employees are provided with paid volunteering leave and a donation-matching program, to support charities that are meaningful to them. Additionally, volunteer activities are regularly scheduled during work hours, with high participation levels.
Many insurance companies say they’re different, but Ecclesiastical really is. Collectively, the team shares a passion for making the world a better place. And as their business grows, their giving reach will grow even further.
