Excellence Awardees
Nominations
The call for nominations was open to all insurance professionals and organizations - brokers, brokerages, insurers, underwriters, MGAs, risk managers, and service providers - from across Canada.
Excellence Awardees
Once all nominations are considered and research is complete, excellence awardees will be selected in each category (except the Lifetime Achievement category) and notified via e-mail or phone.
Judging
All submissions from our excellence awardees are forwarded to the independent judging panel comprising industry leaders and senior representatives. The panel will assess and vote for their winners in each category according to the relevant category criteria.
Voting will commence in October 2023 and their judgment will be impartial, balanced, incisive and fair. Any judge with a conflict of interest in a category will recuse themselves from judging that category.
Awards Ceremony
The winners in each category will be announced at the Insurance Business Awards gala dinner on Friday 15 September 2023 at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney. Winners will also be published on Insurance Business website.

Most recently, in collaboration with Lifetime Developments’ Brian Brown and graphic artist Ben Johnston, Edwards kickstarted See You Soon Toronto— a charitable organization offering limited edition apparel and art, with all of the proceeds going back to COVID-19 relief efforts. Prior to that, Edwards founded Concrete Hoops, a not-for-profit basketball camp that aims to incorporate life skills with the love of the game.
In honour of his work as a television host and with numerous charities and foundations supporting underserved youth, Edwards received the 2016 Mandela Legacy Hope, Success, and Empowerment Award, alongside Naomi Campbell, and Reverend Al Sharpton.
